The chart is stunning. Media buys precede current Nielson numbers so any business that bought GRP's in 2012 will get a lot of free ads in 2013. Then, for 2013, a buyer has to look at the trend and decide if it's worth buying ads on KSL at any price.

I'd hate to be the guy taking the helm of that ship....but on the bright side, there's no place to go but up.

I looked up what they show at 10 pm. Can't compete with Fox News and Seinfeld. Also, KSL radio dropped Sean Hannity in an effort to cater to the Left and replaced it with pablum angering many of the more intelligent viewers who are intrinsically conservative.

Hannity may have lost credibility with FP/12 when Mitt lost in November. Hannity was more invested in a Mitt win than Mitt was, after all.

Funny because all KSL is - both in the television, website and radio - is nothing BUT advertising. There is advertising everywhere on ksl.com - I mean, loaded and baked. On the radio KSL has advertising at least 30 to 35 minutes per hour. 5 min on, 5 min ads.

And now they've changed it up on KSL news. No more sitting behind a desk reading the news. Now they stand around at tables, sitting on couches, standing in front of 90 inch TV sets. Bugs the crap out of me.

The biggest issue for me is the Cult is #1 on the Cult owned channel. There could be thousands dead from some catastrophe - but Monson's birthday gig will be first. Stories that are biased and/or geared towards the Cult - along with the non-stop advertising for the top 12 Cult Leaders and their regurgitated talks turned into books, Mr Mac commercials for missionaries, Mormon Tabernacle quagmire, come see the City Creek Mall...

But there was a second purpose. It was also meant to advance the societal views of LDS leaders that might be palatable to Mormons and non-Mormons alike.

Well, you get the picture, KSL Channel 5 in Utah during the local news is a sore turnoff.

One commenter made this point which I agree:

It isn't just the "soft stories." It is their rampant anti-public education agenda, their censorship of certain TV shows, and the inclusion of the DesNews (a.k.a. the Church News) into KSL that turned me off of that channel. Fox News (national network) is a lackey for the Republican party, MSNBC is a lackey for the Democrat party, and KSL is a lackey for the Tea Party and LDS church. Viewers don't want to feel like they are under the spell of propaganda, but that is what you get when watching KSL.
