Mitt Romney says his heart said he was going to win the presidency, but when early results came in on election night, he knew it was not to be.

The GOP nominee tells "Fox News Sunday" that he knew his campaign was in trouble when exit polls suggested a close race in Florida. Romney thought he'd win the state solidly.

Obama ended up taking Florida and won the election by a wide margin in the electoral vote.

Romney says there was "a slow recognition" at that time that President Barack Obama would win – and the race soon was over when Obama carried Ohio.

Romney says the loss hit hard and was emotional. Ann Romney says she cried.

i think this lays out the fundamental problem LDS, and others who seek spiritual guidance through prayer have: the trust in a spiritual feeling to make conclusions of fact about outcomes.

having spent time in india, struggling with sanskrit texts, i came to understand an amazing, and very popular sloka:

Bhagavad Gita, 2:43-44 wrote:"You have the right to do your work, but you have no right at all to the fruits,
Thus, do not set yuor hearts on the work-fruits, nor become attached to inaction.

Standing firmly with a unity of mind, do your work without atachments, Arjuna!
Success and failure become the same, and this sameness is called "yoga"/unity."

There well may be a reason for Mitt Romney to run for President. His campaign created a sort of "Mormon Moment" that may in retrospect be a tipping point for the old school of Mormon polemical exclusivity. a lot of good may come if this. We simply don't know the outcomes.

i don't think that Romney as the personal benefit of knowing the hindu philosophical of "detached action". it is not intuitive to most LDS, who buy into the formula that if we obey, we'll be happy all day, or that if we are righteous, then we will prosper in the land. Mitt Romney is a poster boy of "prospering in the land"...well beyond the average american. but this no indicator of political prosperity.

Maybe Mitt can do Viagra ads. That's what happened to Dole, the last Republican lamb sent to the slaughter of a Democrat president running for re-election.

Romney says his campaign didn't do a good job connecting with minority voters, and that Republicans must do a better job in appealing to African-Americans and Hispanics.

So, the GOP has problems with Curse of Cainers and Lamanites. I thought that the Help would vote for their Employer.
