Jesus visits our ward for sacrament

Post by _consiglieri »

Yesterday (3-3-13) we had fast and testimony meeting in our ward.

A dear older sister (I will call her Anne) who was sitting four people down-pew from me got up and made her way to the stand. She said she had volunteered recently to clean the local temple and was told by the person in charge that they do this two times a year, and that it is important that the temple be clean from top to bottom in order for it to be “completely acceptable” to the Lord.

This caused the sister some personal reflection, and she said that she is trying so hard to eliminate any sinful behaviors in her life so that she can be clean like the temple and also be “completely acceptable” to the Lord.

She closed her comments and slowly made her way back. By the time she was once more seated in the pew, a note was handed down to her from my general direction, written on the back of a program.

She opened it up and read these words:

Dear Anne,

I just want you to know that you are already “completely acceptable” to me.

Love,

Jesus.

Wow, you're a real dick. Why can't you just read this simple story of compassion and appreciate it? You don't even have to vomit anything like what you wrote above----just shut the hell up.

Consig,

Great story.

Who would have written such a note, though?

They only clean the temple 2 times a year? Does that strike anyone else as a small number?

So do I only have to clean up my act 2 times a year to be acceptable to Jesus?

Anyways, sweet story, Consig.

You're probably right. However, I have to believe that if more people would call him on his dickish behavior he would think about it. I mean, there are many who call LDSFaqs and Droopy on their stupid behavior, but I haven't seen anyone say anything to The Mighty Builder.

You'd be wrong.

by the way, we're past the point of calling ldsfaqs or Droopy on behavior. Now we just make fun of them for the hell of it.

But making fun of the deranged father of a rape victim just isn't as satisfying, no matter how much of a jackass he is.
