Apologies if this has been noted elsewhere:

And not a word written by Abraham...

Knowing they were publishing these explains why the change to the intro in the Pearl of Great Price.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

who do we have to thank for this?

Dean Jesse and Marlin Jensen, obviously, but are there also people in the Q15 without whom the JSP project could never have proceeded to this point? who are they?

I don't know about the Q15 but the late Larry Miller (owner of the Jazz) was the money man for the JSP.

It's weird to actually see it. I can imagine how awe-inspiring it must have been to see these back in the 1830's and think you were looking at Abraham's actual writings.

I always suspected that LHM was a fifth-columnist. Heck, before he went on that diet a few years before he died, I think he was even a sixth, and possibly a seventh.

The head he drew on the damaged portion reminds me of Mr. Bean's attempt at repairing Whistler's Mother.
