At prices that high, I see no reason to abstain from downloading an illegal PDF version from bittorrent.

I have been trying to buy a copy of Lucy's Book: A Critical Edition of Lucy Mack Smith's Family Memoir for several years now but the price has always been over $150.00, sometimes much higher.
Well, at least you can read it online for free.

Thanks Cinepro. I am aware it is available online. I would like a hard copy. I am a hoarder when it comes to books. Somehow the electronic versions just are not the same. I love sitting in a big easy chair with a book in hand.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

Thanks for that reminder, cinepro. I'm partial to hard copies too, but some access is better than none.

Re: Deconstructing Mormonism for a grand
I got mine from the second print run a few weeks ago.
How's the reading going for those with the book?
I have made it through the 'compulsory' sections and just getting to the end of chapter 3. I don't get a lot of time to sit and read at the moment and I find the book a bit frustrating - it is repetitive and takes a lot of words to say stuff, such that I lose the overall point of what I was reading about, then have to go back to find it. My brain is too small to hold key points in focus while processing all the words. So very slow going.
I am also definitely not a fan of psychodynamics, or 'depth psychology', but so far have not seen anything flaky used as 'proof' of anything. This book is a huge departure from my usual sciency reading; maybe I just don't have enough of a philosophy background. I can't see at all how I could give it to my chapel Mormon mother to read.
That said, I am getting the point of what he is saying so far, but I don't see how this is different from simpler atheist arguments about 'what' God is that I have seen in the past. Hoping that I will get into some "meat" as I get further in.
ETA: I see there is an old thread on the topic. Will work through that now.

That's abuse.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)
