Dress has become rather immodest, leading to the pornofication of society. It is not just a question of immodesty but a question of decency. Adverts are displaying women's clothes as if they are dressed for the porn industry. And this is the main problem today when it comes to style.

seeking to excuse your buddies who rape the women and girls, are you?

None of my words could possibly be interpreted that way by any honest person.

The LDS Church does teach young men self control. At least they taught that when I was growing up within the Church.

Still is the case.

Why not acknowledge that there are many factors? Certainly, men are responsible for their own actions (and reactions), but the dress and behavior of women can also be a factor.

Indeed. It's more than just dress. It could also be behavior.

I don't mind the walking porn. If you've got it, flaunt it. But if you don't got it, cover up.

Absolute nonsense. The way a woman dresses has no impact on my choice in how I react. Is there a split second (or more) where instinct kicks in and the eyes wander to the girl with the short skirt? Yep. But I can choose to look away and keep my thoughts appropriate so as not to objectify.

If a person is stupid enough to buy a car, jacket, sunglasses, or anything else because they saw a little skin in an add, then they deserve what they get.

Of course. When did I imply differently?

Why do you always bring homosexuality into nearly every thing you write/say? Methinks thou protest too much.

It was a good example as the topic comes up regularly on this board. Plus this is where the audience in serious need of repentance regarding this issue is.

Modesty is a human invention. Women's dresses you see at your local LDS church are very immodest by the standards of the LDS church 100 years ago.

There is some truth to that, and some omission. The eternal principles don't change but their application does as what society holds up as vulgar, lascivious, or rebellious changes.

For example, in the days of early Christianity, it was considered effeminate to shave one's beard. Today a beard is still too often a sign of rebellion for it to come back into favor.

Well provide what is being omitted. You haven't provided any example of what is supposed to be from God and unchanging in regards to modesty.

I think I have. And it might be good to repeat here what I said to you in the other thread:

One of the greatest character flaws in most anti Mormons (and I should add; apostates) is the need to be Pharisaical in all things; to apply or want to apply a strict rule and condition for all situations and if such is not the case, it is erroneously assumed that there must be hypocrisy. The Church itself certainly has some strict standards in some areas as needed, but generally eschews that whenever possible.

Actually in lds theology the concept of modesty was introduced by Satan. For some reasons the lord's prophets have perpetuated this teaching of Satan.

You haven't provided any. I provided evidence modesty has changed in the church over time and has moved with the rest of society. It may be 10-20 years behind, but that is true for many other issues as well. You haven't provided how God is really apart of this.
