Historical missionary broadcast

Post by _SteelHead »

To announce guided tours of your local wardhouse by the missionaries. Too many idle hands?
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

My wife is attending the broadcast right at this moment. I'll be interested to see if in any way the build up is justified.

Please return and report. I'm curious to know if TBM's thought it lived up to the hype.

It always, in their minds "lives up" to the hype. Thinking otherwise is not allowed.

Seems kinda familiar.

"I'm a Scientologist." ------------> "I'm a Mormon."

"Our buildings are not just open on Sundays - we're open seven days a week and we can give tours." - CoS

"Our buildings are not just open on Sundays - we're open seven days a week and we can give tours." LDS Church

Here's a better approach - get each meetinghouse a mini visitor's center with interactive touchscreen displays and perhaps a café in the serving area.
I make an end of my writing upon these plates, which writing has been small; and to the reader I bid farewell, hoping that many of my brethren may read my words. Brethren, adieu.

She enjoyed the broadcast. She liked the story told by president Monson of how as a bishop, his ward built a new ward house to replace the run down building they were using. She mentioned the use of the internet by the missionaries and ward building tours and a move away from tracting.

She mentioned the number of new mission presidents (170+-) and missionary totals (70,000 plus) along with new missions.

In no way did I get a sense from her that it was an unusual or unique event.
