An update to the rules of the board

Post by _Dr. Shades »

Dear MormonDiscussions.com participants:

I just got finished adding a new sentence to the end of Universal Rule #7. The entire rule now reads:

7. Do not reveal personal or "in real life" information about any poster on this site that he or she has not explicitly revealed here. This includes avoiding mention of his/her actual first or last name, even if he or she has made it available on some other website.* This also includes information harvested from Facebook.

Hopefully this clarifies things: If you see something on someone's Facebook wall, don't copy-and-paste it here, no matter how incriminating, "juicy," relevant, etc. you believe it to be. This is because unlike this message board, which is viewable by the general public, information that people post to Facebook is only viewable by people the poster has authorized to see it, making it ipso facto private information.

Thank you.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

What if the Facebook user has authorized the general public to see it?

For example:

In that case, I guess it's O.K.

Wouldn't that invalidate "even if he or she has made it available on some other website."?

Seem to remember something about, "... you will be sorry. I'm leaving and taking my donor list with me".

Oops, that is neither here nor there. Just a pavlovian response to the phrase "commercial apologetics", I guess.

I've been thinking about this snide remark and realized I need to comment again. Whatever happened with in real life information being posted here is unfortunate. I know it happens from time to time. I wish it didn't.

I would humbly add that this should apply to Geeks as well since it is a private board.

Thanks for all you do, Shades.
