A Timely Change to the Word of Wisdom
A Timely Change to the Word of Wisdom
It is time, President Thomas S Monson. I plead with you to make a doctrinal change. Open the Doctrine and Covenants. This is not a sealed book. Please open the book and consider a change or two.
1. Change the implied ban on alcohol to an explicit ban on private television (ABC, Fox, CBS, etc.)
Please. Give your members a reason to be better. Better for reals.

in my opinion, the WofW should come to an end; let members choose for themselves. But if that can't be done, then bring coffee and tea back and get rid of soft drinks.

Not a bad idea, M.
I've decided to cut nighttime snacks from my diet and drink some decaf tea instead. It is calming for me. Tea is like the Holy Ghost in many ways. It's relatively cheap, it calms the soul, it isn't loaded with calories, and it is warm.

I'm glad. :)
Let's keep this going:
Holy Ghost is herbal tea
Jesus is wine
Heavenly Father is... doughnuts?
I got the first two but I'm at a total loss on HF.

Re: A Timely Change to the Word of Wisdom
I think if the Mormon church dropped green tea and adopted a ban on soft drinks that would impress a lot of people. Not because that'd be prophetic (is anyone not brainwashed from birth really going to buy the 'prophet' angle anyways) but because it's showing leadership and initative to help guide Mormons stay healthy.
A prophet that doesn't prophecy is okay if at least he's useful as a good teacher and leader. When you just drink milk with ice crystals, read two teleprompter dictated talks for the world every year, and ramble on about the same stories about widows (he never seems to have stories about friends his age or getting along with anyone outside of lonely senile widows) it's not really doing anything.

May I suggest HF as finely aged cheese? Goes great with the wine.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

My family and I go for dim sum maybe twice a year, which makes it special. So I could see Heavenly Father being wonderful like dim sum.

Excellent ideas. Aged cheese is great because of the pairing and sophistication. Dim sum is great because there is a surprise inside and they are soft.

I'm pretty sure hot drinks specifically meant black licorice and beef liver. Bet all of you have tasted that stuff.
