These articles are totally biased and strictly faith promoting. They ignore the negative questions that are naturally raised by the perverted Mormon religion. It's all a joke. There is no open ended approach -- no asking, seeking, and questioning about the things that show Mormonism is really a lie. Just faith promoting garbage and avoiding the issues that would question one's faith.
The leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are spiritual Nazis -- leaders of a cult that continues to brainwash and feed their people lie after lie.
I call upon Google-god to continue to expose the nakedness of this nasty-ass cult and smack it down. Watch Mormonism get the beating it deserves. Exposing the nakedness of wicked Mormonism will become a favorite pastime for many a people. Poor Tommy Monson, burping all over himself. He probably just ate too much, pigging down as usual -- that fat hog.

Maybe they found out some Stake Presidents and Bishops have been referring questioning members to Utah Lighthouse Ministry and the Tanners - who have actual history and intelligent answers?
“If paying tithing means that you can’t pay for water or electricity, pay tithing. If paying tithing means that you can’t pay your rent, pay tithing. Even if paying tithing means that you don’t have enough money to feed your family, pay tithing." Ensign/2012/12

Be patient. They're developing an app so they can broadcast the proclamations and guidance directly to each member.

Because nothing changed relative to the doctrine of the Church. "Forget everything I said" happened waaaaay back in 1978.
Now I know just how deluded you are. YOu are a sad pathetic individual devoid of any scruples.

They just kind of slipped the articles in their gospel topics website, but this was noticed by people. My understanding was that it was the newspapers (e.g. SLTrib) who picked up on the buzz around them and reported on it, unilaterally. Am I wrong on this?

Doesn't that reinforce the point of the OP?
What has been important enough a message in recent times to prompt a FP letter to be read out across the pulpit?
1. That the General Authorities are busy people so don't write to them.
2. The same sex marriage battle in California needs your money.
3. We can't afford to fund the missionary programme since we made the age change, so give us more money.

So when the letter was read out about how busy the General Authorities were so don't bother writing to them, what was the doctrinal change?

Interesting point. By having him give this talk in the Sunday Morning session of General Conference it ensured everyone heard him, ensuring the myths were quickly dispelled.
Oh... wait... he didn't did he? He gave the talk to a group of CES people at BYU. So famous that I'd never heard of it until I went a-digging in 2012.
