I could sympathize with the opening post much better if Strang beat Joseph Smith to the formula that worked for Joseph Smith.
Naturally Strang can be dismissed out of hand because he used the same formula as Joseph Smith. If God had more revelation to give or scriptures to reveal he would have come up with a completely unique and new process for Strang. Like an Ouija board.
Strang could not have imposed upon any but the most ill-informed of Mormons with his fake revelation. His supposed translation from plates of antiquity, witnessed of by seven of Nauvoo's ne'r-do-wells the Book of the Law of the Lord supposedly what ancient Israel is known to have read from at least up to the prophet Nehemiah, about 500 BC. Stang has named Jesus Christ in the second and third chapters. And he names apostles and stuff sounding more like the organization of the Council of 50 with a king and appointing everything to the least thing. Ancient Israel was never organized like the modern LDS Church's priesthood quorums as is commanded therein according to Strang.
He failed miserably to make one revelation like the least of Joseph Smith's. Why hear him?
Jo Smith could not have imposed upon any but the most ill-informed with his fake revelations. His supposed translation from plates of antiquity, witnessed of by eleven of New York’s ne'r-do-wells, the Book of Abraham supposedly written in “his own hand,” and the Kinderhook Plates all attest to his lack of "translation" skills. Jo has named Jesus Christ throughout the Book of Mormon… And he repeats stories and stuff sounding more like the Late War and Indian Legends. Ancient Israel was never organized like the modern LDS Church's priesthood quorums as are found in Jo’s “revelations”.
He failed miserably to make one revelation like the least of those found in the Bible. Why hear him?

Here he is, Bro. Strang in his prime, shortly before he succumbed to sudden acute lead poisoning. This is an unconserved cased daguerreotype. You can tell because the artifacting has the appearance of two reflective surfaces facing each other.
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately. --Yahoo Bot
I pray thee, sir, forgive me for the mess. And whether I shot first, I'll not confess. --Han Solo, from William Shakespeare's Star Wars
He then sealed his testimony with his blood. He then, MUST be a true prophet!
