I think a senior Church representative will attend court on March 14th. I predict that Tom will struggle on that day in the face of some expensive advocacy on behalf of the defendent. I predict that very little will happen on the 14th and that, at some point following that date Tom will run out of funding.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

Sounds prophetic to me. :)

Lawyers on behalf of Monson show up with affidavits from physicians that Monson is too frail to make the trip, and it is postponed until Hell freezes over, again and again, until everybody forgets about it and goes home.
Stalling, excuses, delays. The church will drag out out as much as possible then Monson will pass and the paperwork will need to be submitted all over again for BKP. Repeat.
I can see a permanent ongoing delayed process until a relatively young PSR takes the helm. My seerstone gets murky about then.
The church will get the action halted or dismissed, Tom will cry foul, little to no information will be released and it will be pandemonium on RFM as steve benson tries to grab the spotlight once again to spin this into a conspiracy theory laden tirade.
The howler monkeys on /r/exmormon will set up a triage center for bereaved exmormons. Up and down the wasatch front Mormons will be heard repeating "i told you so". It will come out that Tom made most of his information up regarding the publicity he released prior to March 14th.
Tom will disappear into Thailand with the "defense fund". I will be sent up the river by Exmo Command to hunt down and terminate Colonel "anointed one" Kurtz with extreme prejudice after he went native and amassed an army of faithful exmos. The Doors will play, i'll break a mirror while exercising in my hotel room naked and the thai hookers holed up in the ancient temple of Thai ladyboys will crown me the new exmormon king.
Definitely. I see no way other than this as to how this trainwreck will unfold.

I predict that this circus event will cause further divide, angst and turmoil among family/marriage/friend relations. It will be the origin for additional pain for many good and decent people on either side of this issue and it will have zero (near zero?) impact and/or effect of the great majority of people who have (or have had) Mormonism in their lives.
What are the chances that the Church will simply not countenance the charges at all, and will not respond at all? I wouldn't have thought that would happen, given Church holdings and Church members in Great Britain (i.e., the Church wouldn't want to be seen in a foreign country as disdaining the system and institutions), but I also would have thought that any response would have happened well before two days to the deadline.
Does the Church know something we don't know? Have they been privately in contact with the authorities over there and made other arrangements?
