This smacks of condescending idiocy and says much about what's important in your life, not to mention what draws you to Mormonism. It also speaks volumes about where you attribute the source of your happiness.
You are Born Under the Covenant IF your parents were married and sealed in the Mormon temple, however you are not a member UNTIL you are baptize and CONFIRMED a member.
So what you meant to state was I wish I was not born under the INFLUENCE of Mormonism.

This tells me you don't want to admit that you are indeed grateful you were not born on a farm in rural China and many other places besides because it would ruin what you are trying to accuse me of.
Spacey, I guess you were just one of those very valiant souls in the non-existant pre-existance, you certainly are precious.

No I'm not. I have no such gratitude. I'm sure that a person born on a farm in rural China has every bit as much of a chance to find happiness and fulfillment as I do. I find happiness in family and friends. I also tend to find my fulfillment there. So I'm absolutely positive that being born on a farm in rural China would have no impact on that. You on the other hand.....
Some days it is more difficult than others to forgive myself for being born Mormon.
Aren't you the least bit grateful you weren't born in say, a farm in rural China?
Certainly I'm grateful not to have been born in a farm in rural China. But that's a false dichotomy. To have avoided rural, impoverished China I had to be born Mormon? I don't think so.
I said in the OP that I essentially rue having been born under Mormon influence (as further clarified by TMB).

Too bad you can't have a jimmy stewart happening as in the movie: it's a wonderful life. You may be surprised just how your life would have turned out if you weren't born Mormon.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith

Why Me,
You're right because we all know that despite being only 0.001% of the population, and despite having the highest anti-depressant use/online porn use/youth suicide rate/highest per capita bankruptcy filings in the nation, the only way to truly be happy in this life is to be born a Mormon.
Good grief, man! Get a grip!
