In all seriousness, I believe that a religion ought to be judged by what it teaches and practices, not what someone else wants it to be.

That is funny!

It is a strange thread. Despite Servant's disagreeable admonishments to people who are mostly no longer Mormons, we should all thank her for sparking this very interesting discussion.

A reminder that the real problems religions have to deal with are some of it's staunchest defenders (whatever their faith).

Servant has made it unclear which denomination she fully identifies with, but I'll bet that ministers from both of those she attends would ask her to please go and defend someone else.

Actually, the creeds have very little to do with the Bible at all. They fit much more nicely as a commentary on social and political beliefs of the time.

They don't need to appear in the Bible. Mormons do not hold the Bible to be the infallible word of God.
