Actually, I was just told by the CC pastor that he really appreciates me; as far as the Anglicans go, our priest is a personal friend and my husband and I visit him frequently at his ranch.

If you are telling us the truth and they were telling you the truth, then my faith in humanity has just slipped a notch or two and Ceeboo's advice about betting turns out to be wise.

So, this can assure you that I'm not the anathema character you like to portray me as. Maybe you should deal with what I post and the doctrinal themes instead of worrying about how a pastor relates to me.

I have two main thoughts about God. One (that I'm quite sure of) is that I don't know anything about God. The other (that I'm almost sure of) is that nobody else does, either.

Why did the Bible need to be summarized somewhere else?

If the Bible contains all we need to know about God and the gospel, it doesn't need to be summarized anywhere.

Where it potentially gets a little sticky is when one considers that there have been volumes written that are meant to summarize the summary, and those summaries often end up almost as long as the thing that the summary was summarizing.

Obviously you are very uninformed. Why don't you review this which posts what kind of apostasy is going on in the Episcopal Church or other liberal Anglican denominations, and the response of conservative Anglicans:

The creeds were recited in Church, and still are, to summarize the basic beliefs of Christianity.

It depends on the definition of 'Christian'. Probably not by your understanding of the word.

It's not "too bad", it's very good. There have been too many atrocities committed by zealous believers like yourself. Europe, in general, has moved beyond those horrible days when Catholics and Protestants took turns burning each other at the stake. People in England and Europe are just weary of the foolishness.

Church attendance has dropped dramatically in Europe (especially LDS churches). The smarter and better educated people become, the less they need mythologies from the past.

Personally, I'd rather the kind of mocking that admits it's mocking. Some might say that dogmatically condemning people based on a caricature of their belief is a far worse form of mockery.
