Hi Servant,
I would appreciate an answer to my questions, if you have time.
Where, in the Bible, are the creeds. Or, if you prefer: where, in the Bible, are the ideas of the creeds?
What do you think about God sending bears to murder some teenagers for calling someone bald?

Probably about the same thing she thinks about someone who simply couldn't get themselves to believe all the Jesus silliness being sent (or, sending themselves through their choice, as she puts it) to a place where they will be roasted, literally, for an infinity of future time: they had it coming.

Servant wrote:Nope, I don't believe a person holding Mormon beliefs about God and Jesus are in the body of Christ. Those who believe in the Triune God, and the Biblical Christ and for some reason are still in Mormonism, may be saved. I'll leave that in God's hands - because I believe that all those God CALLS (Particular call) will come to Jesus. John 10.
However, I don't need YOU to interpret my posts, Markk, nor do I want you. So, I'll happily bow out and they can change this thread's title to "Markk says."
So, then you are confirming that it isn't grace or the atoning blood of Jesus that saves, but rather it is having the correct conception of the nature of God that saves.
Why do I find this flavor of Christianity so utterly dispiriting?

Servant sez:
She gunna burn in hell for all eternity because she had the incorrect concept of Jebus!

Which flavors of Christianity do you find acceptable and not dispiriting? Don't give me that New Age crapola, but you likely will.

What you don’t seem to understand is that the Bible was written for today. So what if the vocabulary used has close parallels within the Greek reciprocity system. Who cares about the expectations of fidelity within a lord/servant relationship in antiquity. The authors obviously didn’t utilize any social or political elements to help illustrate concepts to their immediate audience.
Through the lens of faith my friend… just make sure it’s polarized to reduce the glare of history.

I like religions that focus on helping people become better people. I'm not interested in religions that harp on minutia. If that's new age crapola, I suppose I prefer new age crapola.

Whoda thunk? An Ayn Rand acolyte.
Religions exist to worship God, not to improve the human condition. If one worships God, the human condition improves. But the converse is not true.

Does it matter which god? Do acolytes of Xipe Totec improve the human condition through their worship?
