This might be the most accurate interpretation of doctrine you have ever vomited out of your mouth.
The one thing I know about Mormon heaven, I won't be there so it can't be all that fun.

No one will be there, it does not exist. Mormon heaven is a creation that feeds and maintains the ego illusion. That is enlightment: to understand that the seperate self is a myth.

So helpful. Thanks for narrowing down what Mormon heaven looks like to "not sacrament meeting."
What even if doctrine of heaven anymore?

By the way, who says we no longer get a planet?
The LDS church has disavowed this popular LDS notion

BC Space says with a straight face:
Never was an LDS notion to begin with as far as I can tell.
BC are you really a Mormon? I mean really. Come on bud stop the pretense. The doctrine of eternal exaltation was certainly taught to include creating and populating worlds. There are even conference talks as recent as the early 2000s where this was taught. Darth has documenting this over and over. You are either not really a Mormon or so intellectually dishonest and bankrupt that you can make such comments and believe it.
Oh wait...this is common for you. Never mind.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

SteelHead, did you include this Bill Hamblin quote just because you found it interesting, or do you actually agree with it? If so, what religion
is there that you find has some "correlation with reality"?

Craig Paxton wrote:Now that having been said…I am curious as to what exactly Mormon’s believe they will be doing in eternity? As a TBM, I used to believe we'd be creating worlds, suns and universes and populating them with our spirit children, but at what point does even that become untenable? Eternity is an awful long time. I mean how many family reunions can you take?
I'm reasonably sure the LDS version of heaven has its residents helping other people become more happy. I could do that for eternity.
Craig Paxton wrote:For me, assuming there is an afterlife, Hell would be doing temple work or missionary work for eternity…heaven would be golf, fishing, epicureanism ( the business of seeking pleasure), eternal sexual pleasure, traveling the cosmos, eternal education and of course family and friends.
Won't be any need for temple work; there are a finite amount of people we can do the temple work for, so at some point we'll run out of names. I wouldn't mind doing missionary work.
Craig Paxton wrote:But certainly NOT temple work...arggg that would be HELL...as would kissing God's ass for eternity as well...( is he really that unsecure as to need our eternal ass kissing?)
I think there's a big difference between kissing someone's rear and holding a healthy respect for that someone.
Craig Paxton wrote:I think I’d rather just die and turn out the lights and fade to black.
Unfortunately turning out the lights and fading to black is not an option. Do&Co 93:29 clearly states that not even God can create intelligence out of nothing; I suspect that it's just as impossible to destroy that that 93 clearly says God cannot create.

I'm sure nobody on this forum has any idea what such an existence might be like. But if I find I still exist after this life, I'll be deeply gratified and excited. I'll look on it as a great new adventure.

Fortunately or unfortunately your 'heaven' will be exactly what you are expecting. No temple work, no family reunions and no ass kissing. Of course I also don't think it will be golf, fishing, epicureanism ( the business of seeking pleasure), eternal sexual pleasure, traveling the cosmos, but it will be an education either way.
By the way, who says we no longer get a planet?
Why no golf or fishing or epicueanism, and just what is wrong with pleasure? Why should heaven exclude it and what kind of heave is it that has no pleasure. Why would there be no traveling the cosmos? That last just stumps me why would we not travel the length and breadth of creation? What are we going to sit in desks in school and learn about it?

In everybody elses version everyone is happy, they just share in each others happiness. Do LDS really expect that heaven will be filled with unhappy people, that's really a foreign concept for others.
