Dehlin & Kelly are of US, Utah. 1/3 of the membership (!official statistic, the numbers may be distorted) lives in US. I don't know the utahn's census, and don't care either.

Sometimes I appear in my wife's ward. Sometimes in her stake.
Up to now, nobody knows who DCP is. I didn't asked anybody about Dehlin & Kelly as they are peripheral --- for a worldwide something.
A few years ago, I used to ask something about "september six". Nobody of elder's quorum got that idea.

When the LDS church decides to excommunicate someone from Hungary for activism or sharing information, then by all means, start threads about it.

What is perhaps bizarre is that you've been so drawn into a certain aspect of American culture because your European wife is part of the Mormon church! (And I don't mean that you are bizarre, but am referring to the situation itself.)

To the situation:
My wife's father was a pastor of Reformed Church in Hungary. Her brother is a presbyter of that church.
I couldn't ever understand, how can anybody join to Mormonism with this family background...

I would like to agree with these comments.
As far as the foreign quality of Mormonism, I live a mere 600 odd miles to the northwest of Salt Lake City and still sense Utah as a foreign country. I also do not really know who Dehlin and Kelly are.

How could your wife convert? I of course have zero knowledge of the particular instance you are concerned with but conversions in foreign lands are not uncommon. I have a number of relatives who converted in Europe and moved to Utah. Sometimes unbelievers say that conversions were an excuse to get out of Europe. Perhaps a bit but still involved real reactions of the heart. People can see things they value greatly in Christianity but find frustration with its traditional forms weighed down in rigidity and the conflicts of history. A new beginning may appear as an appealing possibility. The concrete workings of a new beginning may not have all the appeal of the possible or the thing hoped for however.

All I want to stress that most members (more than 2/3, if we accept all the official statistic) knows nothing --- NOTHING --- compared to the members of this site. And I am not talking about persons of both side. DCP, Southerton, Dehlin, Kelly, Lindsay, whoever.
