Re: Are the GA's Afraid to speak publicly?
I just watch the BBC interview, and I was floored. Very crazy stuff! I can't believe that happened 2 years ago and I never heard about it. Man the things you miss! Good thread by the way, love the comparisons lol!

LDS President Thomas Monson and the Q12:
can't summon the courage to publicly or privately confront Ordain Women, or even to take a position on what they're doing.
Yea, he is definitely a good guy. You hear lots of good things about this Pope. It kind of makes you want to visit a Catholic church.
Then again when you run across stories like this: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/ ... 27483.html

Yea - what happened there in Ireland was horrific. Good thing people and institution's change:
Here is the thought's of today's pope:
"I prefer a church which is bruised, hurting and dirty because it has been out on the streets, rather than a church which is unhealthy from being confined and from clinging to its own security," he wrote. "I do not want a church concerned with being at the center and then ends up by being caught up in a web of obsessions and procedures."
He added: "More than by fear of going astray, my hope is that we will be moved by the fear of remaining shut up within structures which give us a false sense of security, within rules which make us harsh judges, within habits which make us feel safe, while at our door people are starving and Jesus does not tire of saying to us, 'Give them something to eat.'"
