Mormons PLAN TO REQUEST LDS DISCIPLINARY HEARINGS IN RESPONSE TO THE EXCOMMUNICATION OF KATE KELLY
Mormons stand with LDS activists by requesting disciplinary councils
Chandler, AZ- The recent wave of church discipline facing prominent Mormons who have advocated for change within the LDS Church has caused many members to who hold similar views and beliefs to request their own disciplinary councils. The members being disciplined include Kate Kelly, the founder of the Ordain Women movement, John Dehlin, a prolific writer, researcher, podcaster, and leader in the online LDS community and Allen “Rock” Waterman a prominent blogger at The Pure Mormonism blog.
In response they are organizing a grass roots movement called “Strangers In Zion,” and are calling upon thousands of Church members to send in requests to their local Church leaders for disciplinary councils. This movement has been widely distributed within the online Mormon community, and its website has received 2,000 page views within two hours of its launching. Strangers In Zion offers letter templates, community, and the opportunity to sign up at its website http://www.strangersinzion.org.

Yeah, I have to say that this one seems a little off to me.
Now why were these folks excommunicated again?
LOL.

They're deliberately engineering a storm of fecal matter to rain on themselves? Nice.

:)
It certainly won't help either Kelly or Dehlin to put them up on a pedastal.
but taking a look at the site I don't think the title here is correct. Are we sure this was organized by Kelly and Dehlin? I think it is someone else.

I don't see anything on the site that connects it with Kelly or Dehlin.

I think you are right, BH. I see no connection to those two.

No, I don't think Dehlin or Kelly are involved. I question the wisdom of volunteering for disciplinary councils. It would be nice to see some argument that provides some intelligent reason for this. At present it looks like grandstanding of the most transparent kind.
Personally, I like Rock Waterman's perspective better. Why worry about unjust and illegitimate proceedings that defeat themselves? It is not as though Kelly really lost eternal blessings. Her blessings are still in place.
All Kelly lost was the LDS Church's recognition of the blessings she continues to enjoy, including the priesthood.
Jesus Christ is the Great High Priest. He decides who has and who does not have these blessings.

One thing that irritates me about this is that it imposes on local leaders who really do not need the headache and have not asked for it. So, you put them out, have a council that no one will give a crap about, and then you're out.
Just resign and post something online about it.
No one is incommoding the responsible parties (General Authorities) by doing this. They are only incommoding Johnny Lunchpail stake president and bishop.
Maybe I am wrong. I am open to counter arguments.

The domain is registered through a proxy, which is kind of ironic when you think about it...
