Kate Kelly exposes herself on KSL

Aside from wearing new temple unworthy shoulder showing attire, Kate really exposes herself for what she really is. I believe she is a "wolf in sheep's clothing" if you will. When asked if she believes Thomas Monson is a prophet, she responds, "I believe he is the prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of which I am no longer a member". This is a play on words. A TBM would say he is the Prophet on the Earth today for everyone regardless if they are a member or not. Basically, she is saying as a member, we sustain him as our leader and we call him a prophet, but in reality, I do not believe he is a prophet in the biblical sense. To her, this is just a title the church gives Thomas Monson, but it really does not mean what most TBM's believe it means.
She's attorney. She's smart. She knows words are power and she uses her words wisely, but in this case, I think she slipped up and exposed her true side. I agree with her movement and Ordain Women simply because I believe it would make the church less fundamental and extreme, but she is not what she is claiming to be which is a TBM through and through.

She's a lifer. I believe her dad was a convert and her mom is from old-school Mormon stock (If I recall correctly).

So was Gordon B. Hinckley not a TBM? When he was asked if he was a prophet he didn't boldly declare "Yes, for the whole earth!" He said, "I am sustained as such." Sounds like she went a little further than Hinckley in her statement. I really don't get all this nitpicking of Kate Kelly. I am just waiting for James Carville to come on here and start talking about $100 bills and trailer parks. Yeesh.

I don't believe Hinkley was a TBM either. Surely he must have known he was not a prophet in the biblical sense. He did nothing biblical. He never claimed to have seen God. He never claimed anything that prophets in the Bible typically claimed or did.

A true sign of her apostasy and rejection of the prophet would be how many earrings she was wearing and whether or not she went shopping.

I was going to bring up Hinckley too. Also, I would guess very few Mormons believe the President of the Church is a prophet in the Biblical sense. They say they do, they sing songs about it, they testify of it, but deep down, does anyone really believe it? If Thomas Monson challenged you to jump off a cliff, and he would use his priesthood power to land you safely on the ground, would you do it? Maybe 1% of the true believers would, but the vast majority would not, because deep down they know he couldn't do it.

Well, I attended church a month or two ago. They placed me in the gospel principles class with the ward mission leader. During the lesson, he said he knows Thomas Monson visits with Jesus regularly. "Just as we are conversing face to face today" were his words. There were about 12 members in the class and they all nodded in agreement. I was taught this very idea growing up. When I say TBM, those are the people that truly believe Jesus visits with the prophet face to face. That the prophet is something more than a Pope. I think that number is more than 1%.

Definitely most active LDS will say they believe Monson is a prophet who speaks with Jesus. It's just my opinion that very few really do deep down, and they would fail a true Abrahamic test. I could be wrong. Maybe I've been out so long I can't remember what it was like to believe those things. Even the apologists here can't really believe Monson is a biblical style prophet who walks and talks with Jesus. How can the LDS prophets teach incorrect opinions as doctrine for years and year if they meet and speak with Jesus? How can so many tough questions be answered with "we just don't know" if the prophet meets and speaks with Jesus?

New flash, Sanctorian: you can infer what you like, but you do not know that she does not believe he is a prophet "in the biblical sense" (which could mean a variety of things).
I bet she passed many a temple recommend interview with the same answer, just as many LDS people have. I don't see any evidence of apostasy here.
