Wearing Temple Clothing at Home

So, I still home teach.
I know. Let's not talk about that though.
Brother "Johnson" has always been a weird dude. He started investigating the church about two years ago, was baptized 18 months ago, and went to the temple a few weeks ago (he has cancer).
Today was my first home teaching lesson with him since his endowment. I was actually the one who helped him purchase the temple clothing and garments.
My companion is a bit sketchy and I rarely home teach with him, so I usually just bring one of my friends since he's in the bishopric anyway. Today was different, Brother Johnson wasn't feeling particularly well and I waited for around 20 minutes for my unreliable companion to show up to no avail.
So I knocked on Brother Johnson's door by myself and expected to be greeted by the now rail-thin Brother Johnson, recuperating from chemo given earlier in the day.
The door swings open. There he stood, adorned in the blinding white robes of the temple. Fully clothed, I stepped back.
"Come in," he said. "I can explain."
His logic was basically that home is a holy and sacred place. He says he feels exalted when in the robes of the priesthood. Ergo... well, you knew where that was going.
I explained that it probably wasn't a good idea for him to wear the robes outside of the temple. He agreed. But he said he felt strengthened and physically energetic when he wore the robes and lost all energy and prowess once he dressed in regular clothing. "Why don't you go to the temple every day?" I stupidly asked.
"Because the food is horrible and I don't pack a lunch."
I stared and understood his dilemma. "Just promise me you won't wear the robes to chemo."
He obliged.
