What would Brian's position be on the potential issue we might find in the Celestial Kingdom where there are more worthy men there than worthy women?
Would he be advocating that the men share wives?
Would he advocate the spare men seeking romance in a lower kingdom?
Would he be advocating celibacy?
On the basis that the reverse may also be true (more worthy women than men) what is Brian's position on taking on additional wives and how does his current monogamous wife feel about that? (I assume he's married?)
If we take our personality traits with us to the next life (as Mormonism teaches we do) does Brian think men 'suffering' from same sex attraction, who have remained celibate through this life and as such are worthy of the residence in the Celestial kingdom, will be encouraged to marry a woman?
When an apologist speaks, not enough thinking has been done.
?????Omingamy????? Here We Come!

Re: “Omingamy” Here We Come!
This part annoys me,
Instead of looking to legality to find morality, let's look to Joseph Smith's own practice of plural marriage to find morality. Marrying your foster daughters? Moral. Polyandry? Moral. Deceiving your wife about your other relationships? Moral. Thirty plus wives? I daresay we've found morality.
So, wait, are we supposed to oppose the legalization of polygamy or not? We should be okay with one man having 50+ wives because prophets have taught that. But prophets haven't taught that a woman can more than one husband so... we will oppose that. It's okay for there to be a marriage relationship that involves 50+ people as long as there is only one man. But If there are two men involved in that 50+ person relationship... eww, the prophets haven't taught that. Let's keep that illegal.
I, for one, think it's awesome that we are going to base our legal code on what prophets have taught. But Brian I will let you take the lead when it comes to explaining to the non-Mormons friends and neighbors our new legal code for marriage based on prophetic Mormon teachings.
Or maybe, just maybe, Brian, Mormonism doesn't exactly occupy the moral high-ground on marriage.
My father, an attorney, used to tell me, “Never look to legality to find morality.” Neither does legality influence the new and everlasting covenant of marriage. Joseph Smith’s revelations explain how exaltation is available only to heterosexual couples and that a plurality of wives is needed to allow all worthy women to be sealed to a husband (D&C 132: 19–20, 16–17, 63).

For several reasons, we should continue to oppose efforts to redefine marriage to something beyond what prophets have taught. Recent failures in that endeavor constitute an additional evidence of society’s movement away from eternal principles that can exalt us.

This sounds like Brian is arguing for polygamy, which is contrary to what the Prophets currently teach.
I didn't think it was possible to shoot ones self in the foot using ones own self generated straw man argument.
Hales has proved me wrong.

We are legion.
Apparently Dr. Shades needs to locate an exorcist that specializes in discussion boards.

Aaiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeee!!!
:slipperyslope:
It's true. That's exactly what happened when, fifty years ago, interracial marriage was forced on society by unelected judges. Soon enough, all hell broke loose and men were marrying goats. It's also similar to when women were given the right to vote (in direct contradiction to holy scripture's dictates). That slippery slope led to dogs and sheep voting and then to hamsters voting. Now the cockroaches are demanding equal rights. Where will it end?!
