For many years now, we have endured thread after thread from bcspace, informing us that Joseph never had sexual relations with any of his plural wives, because there were no children.
Now that it's official doctrine that Joseph had sexual relations with at least some of his many plural wives, I would like to hear from bcspace.
During the era in which plural marriage was practiced, Latter-day Saints distinguished between sealings for time and eternity and sealings for eternity only. Sealings for time and eternity included commitments and relationships during this life, generally including the possibility of sexual relations. Eternity-only sealings indicated relationships in the next life alone.
Evidence indicates that Joseph Smith participated in both types of sealings. The exact number of women to whom he was sealed in his lifetime is unknown because the evidence is fragmentary.24 Some of the women who were sealed to Joseph Smith later testified that their marriages were for time and eternity, while others indicated that their relationships were for eternity alone.25 https://www.LDS.org/topics/plural-marri ... o?lang=eng
"I'm on paid sabbatical from BYU in exchange for my promise to use this time to finish two books."
He is probably busy composing a letter to church leadership asking them "where are the children?",accusing them of "yellow journalism" and letting them know how many times he has refuted such baseless accusations.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."
Well, If BCspace is as good a Mormon as he claims, he will just act like it was always official doctrine and keep paying tithing so he can keep his Jesus Jammies.
One would think this would be a game changer for some of the apologists on this board. If I had spent years crapping all over the evidence, and then one day the church comes out and officially supports the "anti" position I would be shocked. It would force me to re-evaluate the organization and what I've been doing with myself all these years.

In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.
Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

I imagine that most of them will fall in line and in few months they will be saying that everybody knew this and the church has always taught it.

I'll buy that. There are already plenty who say this stuff was always there you just didn't look for it. Trouble is, people did look for it - but it was hard to find in the sealed vault.

No need to pretend anything. He will point out that this information has always been known and has been part of official doctrine since the time of the pre-adamites and the great flood at the Adam-ondi-Ahman bathhouse.
