Has anyone ever found a use for tobacco in the treating of sick cattle?

The problem with proclaiming that Joseph couldn't have known of the side effects of using tobacco is that it was Emma that perceived the problem in the first place. That would make Emma the Prophet, rather than Joseph.
As far as I am aware, the Church has yet to pronounce (or give guidance to Bishops) wether or not E-Cigs are contrary to the word of wisdom or not.
