Oscar Romero? The OP has got to be parody, right? I mean, Cesar Romero, maybe:

Damnit Darth. You're going to make me split the incisions from my recent appendectomy. Lmfao.

Though. I would say the comparisons of Dehlin say little about the intellectualism in the Church and say a ton about the intellectualism among the dehlinites.

It's not the church that is equating dehlin with charlie hebdo or Oscar Romero.

Darth J:
It's around the time that anything John Dehlin has done gets compared to liberation theology that you realize the bar for intellectualism in the LDS Church is so low as to be on the ground.

But yeah, equating that organization's silly little paternalistic discipline system to being a martyr is not at all the most maudlin hyperbole anyone can think of.

Maybe Kate Kelley is the Diane Fossey of the LDS Church.

Greatest post yet in 2015. Sets the bar very high for the next 11 ½ months.

Funny thing is, when I first saw the title of the thread, I mistakenly envisioned Cesar Romero. I clicked on the link expecting a parody thread.

Someone please tell me it really is.

Poe's law again? It's impossible to distinguish between genuine extremism and a parody of extremism?

Does anyone really know if the OP is a parody or genuine?

I know Darth walked out of a sales pitch for the benefit of a nation. That part I got. Darth Juarez!

Wow.

I think this may be John's response to you, Mr. Elephant.

Whew!

I'm relieved to realize it was a parody.

Right?
