I'll note it is only people like you constantly bringing it up and rehashing it. Could you possibly stop being so unbelievably blind and biased about your own actions and accept it is you and your troll buddies that are doing this?!? You really look foolish considering that you are responsible for doing this in every thread.

Thanks for letting me know how to "really look foolish".

Maybe you have or will. And how would you feel if you were constantly ridiculed about it?

Assuming this is a serious question, I can give you an example of how people on this board treat others who have had these kinds of experiences, when that person is respectful. I suggest you peruse some of the threads in which our resident prophet Nightlion participates or starts. The reality is that most of us (not all I readily grant) treat him with respect and believe he honestly represents himself. Few of us, if any, actually believe his claims regarding his mountain, but it is clear he does and that he is honestly trying to convince others of what he sees. The same cannot be said of Tobin.

I frankly don't care how "Tobin" feels because his own behavior and posting history are classic examples of someone who has created an online caricature (troll) with the intent of angering others. In other words, asking about how Tobin feels is like asking how Santa Claus feels when people criticize him.

You failed to note that I suggested a solution as well.

You can see the subtle difference, right?

Actually, if Tobin's experience had happened in an apartment in New York City, then the most improbable part of his tale would be that he was actually able to find an apartment there available for rent. : )

Posters acknowledge the possibility of life on planets other than ours.

I don't know anybody that acknowledges the possibility of a space being gaining mystical entrance to a locked New York apartment at the exact moment required to prevent a, Tobin hatching a murder plot and b, Tobin leaping on a young woman.

You can see the subtle difference, right?

Remember also many have acknowledged the possibility of such life contacting us.

My view, and I imagine you can understand (even if you disagree) is that if intelligent life contacted us, it would be for a reason - not just to say "Here I am, look at me."

I suppose preventing Tobin spreading his genes would warrant intergalactic travel.

Well, this is one of the most mature comments yet.
Responding is understandable.
What is not appropriate is when others bring it up when nobody else has.

SteelHead did this disrailing harassment to me about another topic and even Justme got annoyed.
It reminded me of a stocking harasser who had some serious mental problems on NOM.

It's as if those who harass people like that, have serious issues that are being projected onto others.
It's like say, someone made a typo (something you didn't like) - once back in 1988 and you guys keep bringing it up every time you see a post from that person.
Get over it!

Some (not all) initially agreed that there is possible life out there and that such life may possibly contact us.
Yet, most have assumed that Tobin's experience is impossible, despite lack of evidence either way.
To conclude that his experience is impossible while acknowledging the possibility of life comtacting us is not logical.

Right, because after all, it is a good rule of thumb to humor preposterous claims made by random people on the internet. Who would just make something like that up?

I all for making some good jokes to keep us all laughing, but not when it is at the expense of a real person. Especially a person who posts here. You were the one to first bring up Tobin in this thread before he even posted in the thread. I will note that I am not perfect in this area, and a number of other ones. :)

Tobin

I agree with Tobin here. Yes I know if he was more respectful like Nightlion he would would get along a lot better with others, but in this thread, others started it. In another thread we criticize the church for trying to weasel out of apologies, but not sure we(including me) are very good at doing much better.
