Yep, a Mormon apologist has actually claimed on my blog that when Emily Partridge said she had "carnal intercourse" with Joseph Smith, she meant she engaged in an exchange of meat, such as passing him a platter of turkey.

My God. You're not making this up:
Besides this, Emily was by then 70 years old, and knew her way around the English language. Carnal refers to meat. Intercourse refers to commerce or trade (ever visited Intercourse, PA?). Therefore “carnal intercourse” would also be a legitimate description of passing Joseph a platter of turkey or chicken or mutton or beef at a meal, an activity the young Emily had almost certainly engaged in.
Surely this guy is being satirical?
Alas, I suspect he isn't.
Mormonism damages the brain.

Nope, she is deadly serious. She has a whole web site devoted to proving Joseph Smith never had sex with his plural wives.

Obviously Joseph did not understand the passing of the platter of turkey and mutton to him, but he got a subtle hint from the damsel and decided to up the ante from the platter of meat and offered the "real thing" to the young woman and the rest is of that commerce is to risque for description here.
i also agree Meridan mag better sign this blogger up quickly before she goes to FAIR.

Are there still a few LDS Apologists over on the MAD board that still argue that Joseph Smith didn't have sexual relations with any of his plural wives? I remember from several years that there were a few LDS Apologists over there that did argue that.

Wasn't that the default position, and still is for them?
