Oliver Cowdrey, Spencer W. kimball, Brigham Young and Samuel Clemens a.k.a. Mark Twain and so might you. Yes it's true in a new free genealogy service designed by BYU that links with familysearch.org you can discover "famous Mormons" you're related to.

Now keep in mind brother Joseph is my 6th cousin twice removed, whatever the hell that means, but holy crap Joseph and I as well as those others named, share common ancestors.

As I read through the who's who of famous general authorities such as L. Tom Perry, j. Golden Kimball, Luke Johnson as well as Orrin Porter Rockwell...I couldn't help but wonder why the church would commission this program. The synic in me thinks it was to create the impression among believers that they're connected to the blue blood of Mormonism...why else have a program that connects members to GAs, Mormon Battalion members and Martin handcart members if not to give the impression that we're all one big happy "important" family even if to do so we're 8th cousins 4 times removed

So what famous Mormons are you related to? Maybe we're cousins

There is a low probability for an European to appear on the list --- I don't think there is any data about liaisons of missionaries...
This "discover how you are related to Prophets, Presidents, and friends" thing is again a speshul American thing, as the whole church is.

I am always skeptic when it is about genealogy:
