I've found that a good way of making irrational fears calm down is to talk about them openly to people who are close to you - assuming they are themselves rational people who care about you.
Get them outside your head, describe them clearly see them for what they are, and they lose a lot of their power.
Thoughts on lds.net forum?

I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

That's a good idea, I might know one or two people I could talk to about it. Most of the folks I'm close to, family, are LDS and so I suspect if I started a conversation about this particular fear with them I'd be met with, "Believe in Jesus, problem solved."

... valid criticism is quite unwelcome there. But who wonders, it's a straight Mormon forum.
Says it all, doesn't it?

I forgot: if an institution, its leaders, and its members not claim themselves to represent a plural democracy, can one criticise them, therefore, if that instituion acts not democratically?
Sure you can. Admittedly you can't really accuse them of hypocrisy with respect to that particular issue, but you can certainly criticize them for not being as democratic as you might like. Likewise, if you proclaim and live democratic principles they can criticize you for being too democratic. *shrug*
