I'm thinking we're being studied.

I'm sorry if I've caused any distress or ill feeling, I did genuinely have a concern, and I don't want to be a bother.

If it helps you feel more comfortable with me, you're welcome to message me and ask me stuff about who I am and my motives, and such.

I don't think any of us care. I think we are all here for entertainment, socializing and good-natured banter. Plus, I know for a fact some of our best posts come from sock puppets created specifically to troll. You're not malicious and even if you were that's allowed here.

And it's only a matter of time before his silly questions get him banned from that forum, I'm sure.

I'm part way through this thread and I have not seen a silly question yet. I haven't seen anything that would even come close to being a ban-able offense.

To me there is four options, though not all have equal probability

1) There is a deity that will judge me, but will judge me based upon my deeds, not on my faith

2) There is a deity that will judge me, but based upon my faith

3) There is a deity that will not judge me

What about all three of these being options depending on circumstance?

I have a question wrote:...if you join the Church and get married in the temple, you are guaranteed a place at the top table even if you fail to live up to the performance criteria from that point onwards. For the super special elect and chosen (you have to be in with the in crowd) there is a further 'platinum club' type membership called the 'second anointing' which gives the recipient an immediate 'get into the top kingdom free' card regardless of their subsequent behaviour....unless they murder someone that didn't deserve murdering. And last (at least for now) there will be too many women in the top kingdom so men will have to have more than one wife.

That's based upon Section 132, right?

I have a question wrote:But Mormonism doesn't teach of a God that is loving and just.
It teaches that God is a racist.
It teaches that God is a genocidal, vindictive, power crazed, needy and insecure deity that needs ten percent of your income before He'll consider you worthy.

You say this based upon what you know, which I'm sure you would admit isn't everything. What about what you may not know in full?

Would/could that make a difference?

MG

Yep, He could be a lot, lot worse.

Not based upon, it's specifically what it says.

Thank you for helping me address my concerns.

I think you've barely scraped the barrel of possibilities. But don't expect the missionaries to be able to answer all of your questions. The truth claims of the church are NOT dependent on whether or not they can answer all of your questions. Be careful of pride in your own knowledge and/or experience in comparing yourself to someone less knowledgeable than yourself. Truth is not dependent on that dynamic or situational circumstance either. Truth, if it indeed exists with a capital 'T' is not found simply by bouncing ideas off of other people and making a judgment call based upon the way things rebound in any particular/one situation and/or time...apart from a larger perspective/view which is only acquired after a significant amount of sacrifice in time/prayer/action/meditation/practice.

Not to say that you haven't 'paid the price', but even so, something to consider.

I won't speak for IHAQ, but for me the answer is no. There is no amount of extra information that would make a difference. Even if it turned out that everything that was ever written about the LDS god was a lie it would make him an absentee parent who is not involved in our lives in any discernable way.
