Yes... A reverse Son of Perdition....

After a man has continually denied the truth, there is no repentance for him. He has got to say that the sun does not shine while he sees it; he has got to deny the truth when it has been revealed unto him, and to deny it with his eyes open to the truth of it; and from that time he begins to be an enemy to himself. This is the case with many of the faithful of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” (Teachings of the So Called Anti's, page 666)

Well, I'll go with George Q. Cannon of the First Presidency of the Church. He made it all clear back in 1868, and taught the youth accordingly.
... WILL LOSE THEIR EXTRAVAGANCES OF CHARACTER AND APPEARANCE, AND BECOME “A WHITE AND DELIGHT[S]OME PEOPLE” PHYSICALLY AS WELL AS MORALLY.
They told it straight in them days!
BOOM !

Yes I feel a bit of discomfort when I use words that my friends and neighbors might find offensive, because...you know...they're my friends. I think if you hung around more black people and their families you would find that you have come to sympathize with and understand a little bit why they find some words so offensive.
Perhaps your flip flopping has less to do with your age and more to do with a fear of coming out of your comfort zone, in this regard.

The Book of Mormon can’t be racist. It has Native American friends, and dated one is high school.

Oh goodness, you're a Moron...and redundant.
I was like any other good little Mormon missionary and read my scriptures every day. I've probably read the Book of Mormon a hundred times through.
There are just too many quotes from past leaders of the Church about race and those lines of scripture that are far too damning (plus denying blacks the priesthood) for you to try to mentally gymnastic your way out of believing the Church's racist past.

and it's not really anti-dark skin. It's just pro-white skin. In the Book of Mormon, if you ain't white, you ain't right(eous).

You may think that fundamentally I am taking issue with you? No, I'm not. by the way, I live in Happy Valley, Utah. My neighbors are not like yours. If I lived where you live I would probably have become more sensitive to the usage of certain designations applying to those of African ancestry. Point taken.
I do home teach a family where dad is Caucasian and mom is from Jamaica. And of course the kids all have darker hued skin tone. To be honest, I've never really thought about what the politically correct designation is to 'call' her, except for 'Sister' and/or by her first name.

We are from different worlds, aren't we? Comfort zone? Fear?
Not even.

Translation: You never interpreted the church in a way that made it acceptable to you like I have. You never jumped through the necessary mental hopes it takes to elicit sense from it's muddled, nonsensical doctrine. In other words, you're looking at it like a normal person would and realize how blatantly obvious a racist and BS institution it is.

Pulling that card squelches the conversation. It does simplify everything, doesn't it? No way can there be MORE to the back-story, etc.
