It's actually a pretty trippy album. I thought it was gonna be all treacly and gooey. But it's got a nice early-70s "acid rock" sound to it. I am guessing Harold B. Lee never listened to a note of it before giving his blessing. You can definitely hear the Sgt. Peppers influence on songs like Movie Man. I never knew this existed, either. Thanks, SP, for sharing some Mormon psychedelia this morning.
Are You Up There is a really terrible song, though. Sorry, Alan O.

Yea. Great idea. Maybe we can do that in Oregon and enjoy some brownies since I doubt there are also music videos to give us a visual to go along with those tracks.
I was hoping that there might also be a Weird Al Yankovich treatment, but then realized that The Plan is probably an intended parody anyway.

....the Devil is obviously behind this travesty
One was obviously written by someone seriously under the influence of mind altering intoxicants....
....the other was written by Pink Floyd.
“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

Hey I'm game and also probably gamey. Oh, and I too, knew nothing of this album until today. I'll even listen to it tonight. I have respect for Weird Al I think he is a talent. I think genuine well done parody is more difficult than just a plain song.

I have this album and I'm non-LDS. I think you have to be an avid Osmond fan to know of this album.
I got it as a gift from my LDS friend around 1976, who was and still is an Osmond fan.

I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who - is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are. - Milton Berle
