With all the energy of my soul, I witness the resurrected and living Christ directs the affairs of His restored and living Church through His servants who have been chosen to bear testimony of His name. I so testify in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Are we to believe if God is not involved in the important things like who can have the priesthood that God is still involved in the lesser matters like how many earrings a women can wear?

God's priorities are not man's priorities. God's ways are not man's ways. But man was made in god's image, with a mind. It's all so mysterious and contradictory.

Since when was there any sort of official statement that the ban was wrong . I am aware it ended. Nothing more.
I have seen a few individuals with only personal authority opine that it was wrong but that is all.
Wasn"t it Gods will for the time it was in place and that time period came to an end?

Church leaders use to put the blame on God, but have moved away from saying that post 1978 days. Don't want to make your Mormon God look to bad. If it was Joseph's or BY's fault then one has to wonder what good is a prophet. The church leaders are taking the cowards way out and will not say anything these days, which is really common for them in a number of problem areas.

This is the current stance:
LDS essay on race wrote:Today, the Church disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else.
What I find most disconcerting in the essay is that while it paints a cultural and historical perspective and progression, even citing Apostle Joseph Fielding Smith as having written
in 1907 that the belief was “quite general” among Mormons that “the Negro race has been cursed for taking a neutral position in that great contest.” Yet this belief, he admitted, “is not the official position of the Church, [and is] merely the opinion of men.” Joseph Fielding Smith to Alfred M. Nelson, Jan. 31, 1907, Church History Library, Salt Lake City.
to distance Mormon god from it, while ignoring to even mention, much less deal with the August 18, 1947 statement of the First Presidency that
The attitude of the Church with reference to Negroes remains as it has always stood. It is not a matter of the declaration of a policy but of direct commandment from the Lord, on which is founded the doctrine of the Church from the days of its organization, to the effect that Negroes may become members of the Church but that they are not entitled to the priesthood at the present time. The prophets of the Lord have made several statements as to the operation of the principle. President Brigham Young said: “Why are so many of the inhabitants of the earth cursed with a skin of blackness? It comes in consequence of their fathers rejecting the power of the holy priesthood, and the law of God. They will go down to death. And when all the rest of the children have received their blessings in the holy priesthood, then that curse will be removed from the seed of Cain, and they will then come up and possess the priesthood, and receive all the blessings which we now are entitled to.”

Since Jesus has three wives(maybe more we don't know about) he would have made sure Victoria's Secret was in the mall if it is truly inspired.
