I have a theory about small online groups like this. It's based on Godwin's law, which you may recall goes, "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."
My theory is that, "As time in participant-hours in a highly selective subgroup of a larger online community increases, the probability of someone in the subgroup getting sent a dick pic approaches 1."
Something about the internet and human nature.

What if I self-identify as someone who wishes he'd never been a mo?

No wait, we do.
For example, my real given name may be called secret.
I am called everywhere as Ludwig. Some acquaintances around, even distant relatives don't know the real one.
Two example:
- The mother of my wife's second cousin wrote a letter, addressed as M* Ludwig. M* is my family name, (no of You could pronounce it). True, that aunt used to meet us only two times.
- In the church, once I was called P* Ludwig from the pulpit. P* is the
family name of my wife, this is another twist. That man didn't imagine my wife and I have different family names.

Sanctorian said on another thread that "Clearly not one single person on this board has completely severed ties with Mormomism or they wouldn't post on a Mormon discussions board." Well, I suppose I haven't either, considering that I never had any ties to begin with, but that prompts the question of why I'm here at all.
I suppose you can blame John Gee. If it weren't for his distortions of evidence (and to a lesser extent those of other apologists) regarding the Book of Abraham, I wouldn't have even found this board, though I didn't join up until a thread on that subject started discussing Egyptology in general.
sock puppet wrote:What if I self-identify as someone who wishes he'd never been a mo?
You have my sympathy. Before finding this board, I thought Mormonism was the kind of thing I personally didn't want to get near, but I didn't give much thought to what it was like on the inside. Now I actually pity people who are in it. I know there are plenty of Mormons who aren't as miserable inside Mormonism as most board members were, but still, it sounds even worse to me than I imagined. So that's what John Gee's efforts in defense of his church have accomplished. It's utterly inconsequential to the fate of Mormonism, but it's not exactly a flattering testament to his work.

Geez, I am so out of the loop. Only
now do I see the importance of the stupid weekly meetings. I feel like such a Jack-nevah-mo. What do I need to do to get worthy again? How many posts will it take?

We're gonna have to run that one past our prophet Ceebs. We'll get back with you. In the meantime, read up on the Nevah-mo handbook, and do some serious pondering about the truths contained therein. Can't hurt your chances.
