Chap, you're misunderstanding me on many levels.

I wasn't mocking sethbag.
I was instead intrigued by what he said, I added something else that came to mind, and took it for a quick ride around the block just to get a feel for how it might possibly explain a thing or two.

Deuteronomy 23 wrote:12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:

13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:

14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

Yes Deuteronomy is Old Testament, but Jesus did give his support of the Old Testament, so we can take it as Christ approved.

Also if I understand correctly, for this reason, God does not watch you on the toilet, he averts his gaze from your uncleanliness, how nice.

If all the temple work can be caught up during the 1,000 year millennium then the imperative for temple attendance isn't about completing temple work.

It's about revenue via tithes. Always has been.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

As usual, Holland throws red meat to the choir. Chances are, they leave the meeting all twitter-pated at how special they are, but more importantly, how special he is, with his apostolic power and priesthood. His knows his theatrics only appeal to the already converted, otherwise he would not tell them to keep it a secret. From the outside looking in, his act comes across as sanctimonious and desperate. Or maybe that's just me.
There are some who call me...Tim.

Yeah, Holland is desperate. I think they're all desperate. Right now my guess is Holland and his Q12 buddies are trying to come up with some fantastical secret ordinance for only the super duper faithful. Yeah, that'll stanch the bleeding. That will promote growth again. Maybe the third anointing will finally be restored. It's the ordinance that immediately makes one God ... but it's super secret and only for the very elect.

Or maybe they are convening the superheroes of p.r. and advertising together right now. Hopefully, they can finally come up with that magical sales pitch that brings them back .....

If only Joseph Smith were here, he could make something up for us.

True.
It's more about getting *some* of it done...and especially about improving and sanctifying those who do it.
And the part that most people overlook is that it's about turning the hearts of the children [descendants ]to their [fore]fathers, and to the promises made to them. If that doesn't happen, the outcome won't be good. https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testa ... 2?lang=eng

That's what Moroni's promise is all about. Seeking a sign. Just don't seek for clear signs, but vague ones your body can produce on it's own and chalk it up to the HG. It's not really all that different then what we see in the video.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
