How can we know that something proclaimed as revelation and doctrine today won't be disavowed as wrong tomorrow?
As an alternative?
How can members trust personal revelation if they 'know' they had a personal revelation about something the Church has now disavowed as not from God?

“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

They continue to reveal that there's no problem, the church is still true, and all the critics just don't have their facts straight. That came straight from Elohim, who regularly appears to them in the upper room of the Salt Lake City temple to make sure they're still on board.
That sounds more like continuing confirmation.

One is easier to disavow than the other? But in reality, not much, because they claim to have "inspired" policies...
