*I find a deep Bordeaux good in a crisis or medical emergency.
The safe thing to do might be to read his book with an open heart and send a donation. Continuous tithing might be safer.
by the way, one doesn't really need to have a crisis to drink a good Bordeaux.

Hello "just me." Ultimately, what is evil in the eyes of God is relative to one's light and understanding. He ultimately judges based on our light and understanding as well as the desires of our heart. Hence, if one is truly trying to live the right way, the terrible things that you mentioned (rape, murder, etc) is certainly much worse if the person doing it knows that it is wrong (and virtually everyone that does such things knows it is wrong). And the most grievous thing is truly denying the Holy Ghost, i.e., "seeing the sun fully shining on you yet denying it", since doing so is rejecting all that is good and embracing all the evil things that you mentioned.

So what you're saying is that the more ignorant of God's ways that we are, the more tolerant God will be towards us. In which case, we absolutely shouldn't read your book because that will just make it easier for God to judge and punish us.

Hello "just me." God does not infringe on free will or agency. We can choose as we may. However, we cannot choose the consequences. For example, the ultimate consequence is our eternal state; for example, the two extremes, one is eternal life, and the other eternal death (outer darkness). We know that things are going to get really bad before the return of Christ, even the wrath of God poured out from heaven as prophesied in the Book of Revelation.
Regarding outer darkness, that is for sons/daughters of perdition. It takes "a lot" to get there, even denying when you 100% know the truth. Most will not know the truth 100% in this life (e.g. seeing the sun shining on you on a clear day, yet denying it).
Look, I know that, traditionally, asking Gods prophet for a sign is a good way to get a monkeys paw wish. (Just ask the Book of Mormon fellow that was smitten with muteness). Anyway, is there a way that thou canst help my unbelief without needing to read the book?
Hello "I have a question". I wouldn't expect such news to be published by the Church. :-) As far as I know, even the leaders at the top probably don't know about it (unless they read the book). Just to add, it started at the very head of the ward (with the bishop who died)...
This kind of stuff makes me really sad. All this waste of time and effort and emotion and belief on a two-bit con from frontier America. It's depressing as hell that some probably sincere and decent guy now thinks it's acceptable--righteous, even--to call down plagues on people because they aren't interested in his scriptural autoeroticism.
Sometimes I think this is the true legacy of Joseph Smith, though most days I think the corporate church is clearly the more directly linked spawn of a for-profit con that got out of hand.
