Bednar confirms my signature quote...

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles gave what he called an unusual title to his address at Brigham Young University-Idaho on Jan. 26: “Repeat Over Again … the Same Things as Before.”
He said he chose that title because his purpose was to explain the spiritual value and importance of repetitious learning and teaching.

This is just hard to believe. Not only are the Church Leaders exhibiting such a lack of knowledge and ideas that they are left to endless repetition of the same old same old, they are now doubling down by making said endless repetition itself the subject of their inspired messages to the members.
In many ways these guys are starting to remind me of Donald Trump. They are so confident of their brainwashed minions that they feel they can do pretty much anything, no matter how ridiculous, and their base will follow and obey.

Oh, brother.
So, in support of Elder Bednar's proposition that it is a good thing to repeat the same things over and over again hundreds of time (and nothing else) during the course of an entire lifetime, he cites to Joseph Smith's visits from Moroni.
Which were four in number, not hundreds.
Which occurred in less than 24-hours, not over the course of a lifetime.
And where after each repetition of what preceded, new information was given not contained in the prior visit.
Even from a believing paradigm, this example doesn't exactly support his proposition.
All the Best!

It's funny for an LDS Cult "apostle" to get so cheeky as to delineate and defend their brainwashing tactics.
It reminds me of
this.

'continuing revelation'
'precept upon precept'
'rinse, repeat'

Or, as the apostle Zack de la Rocha wrote
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya

But now you do what they told ya
Well now you do what they told ya

There is a very well thought out strategy that is playing out. Time will tell if the strategy works, but so far the results seem genius.
Is this the same genius strategy that resulted in Sarah Palin's rise to popularity, or a different genius strategy?

Water Dog,
Can't agree with your comment on discipline as a justification for a lifetime of endless repetition. I went through boot camp too. And I don' think anyone would argue that, compared to USMC boot camp, USN boot camp is a walk in the park.
Point is that you and I eventually graduated from boot camp. Neither of us ended up making a career out of making beds (squaring away racks). Yet the LDS Church leadership would have all of its members submit themselves to mindless repetitive "instruction" on a four year cycle (If I recall correctly) for their entire lives.
As to your expressed opinion of the value and ultimate benefit of the Trump campaign; you may well be correct, but not for the reasons or eventual outcomes that you seem to envision.
