My thoughts on why Christofferson's post irked me so much
Why do I get so angry when LDS leaders post crap like that? I sat and thought about it a bit and this is what I came up with:

The problem in the LDS Church is not this and that about Joseph Smith. It is that there is nothing, nothing, nothing about what Jesus commanded to be admitted to the kingdom of God. This would enlighten and make alive. Because there is no greater light shining the illumination of Joseph Smith for good or ill is the only puppet show upon the canvas. The church chose to make hero worship of Joseph in order then in kind to allow for the worship of the living prophet as their royal oyster.
If you had been taught by example to forsake the world and come unto Christ and in fact came thereby to know God and obtain within you his power and Spirit unto overcoming the world and living by the word of God within you leading you and admonishing you and even chastising betimes you would be alive and well and anxiously engaged instead a dead poop rocking back on the class chair sighing heavily for a feeling of relevance.
You could have been in Zion singing the praises of the great God as with the sound of a trump rather than a dull bump on a log.

I read your blog and liked it. Elder Chirstofferson is probably hitting that age where he doesn't want anything to shake up his epistemology or his world view. I thank God I read the writing on the wall before i hit 60.

What to do when a freak insults you...well I'm certainly not going to engage it.

I intended no personal offense. Everyone in the LDS church is a spiritual bump on a log. They are kept there by the force of pure manipulation. Restrained from purposefulness by the pollution and dissolution of doctrine. A monetized malaise.
But please do not engage me. That would probably hurt. (There ya go, cuz you called me a freak.)

I read you post and wholeheartedly agree - as do many others.
While on the topic of the Christofferson Facebook post of 4 February 2016, this piece from Zelph on the Shelf, in which the FP/12 were identified as cowards, was directly on point.

Well, just a hint, buddy, calling acquaintances "dead poop" is considered an insult to normal people in American society these days.

Agreed. Their whole method of managing their history is very passive-agressive.

Albeit the most creative insult I've read in quite a while.

I loved your blog, fetchface.
I feel similar feelings at church; though I frame them more in the feeling of spiritual oppression and darkness than anything else.
I thought your likening your feeling at church to being "deleted" was spot on!
All the Best!
