Runtu, I had thought the same thing, site is coming up suspended for me also. Glad to know it isn't personal, I was enjoying the discussion over there.

I didn't think so, either. You seemed to be measured in your response, even compared to me.
I am getting the same treatment.
I just started a thread about it before I saw yours.
Maybe there's a new sheriff in town.
Or maybe there's a problem with the site.

Maybe they had to choose between paying their tithing and paying for their provider.

Any cahnce, do you think, that the church has finally realized that the MADboard probably does much more harm than good to its image and to members' testimonies?

Wouldn't that require some self-assessment and thinking outside the church's ethnocentricity?

If only. I don't think it's stuff in internet forums that's driving the exodus. I could be wrong, but I think we're also starting to see disillusionment from the chapel Mormons. The infantilization, endless repetitions and inch deep programs and posturing "authorities" don't wear well in this century. That's what I think the Snuffers and Watermans represent. The church can't shed them as easily as it does gays, feminists and intellectuals--and that hasn't been as easy as the leaders expected.

Must be the site. I can't get on there either. I get on quite well with most of the regulars.

Is MAD back up yet? If not, maybe the party is over.
ETA: Maybe the funding dried up.

I've said it before: people don't usually leave an organization that is an integral and positive part of their lives, even if they discover that it's not exactly what they thought it was. The reason people walk away from Mormonism, whether it's simply going inactive--as is the case with the vast majority--or they are like a lot of us who were active members and figured out the church isn't actually true. I was fine participating, even though I knew it wasn't true, until I acknowledged just how unhappy I'd been in the church.

The board is still down.
