Grant has done a lot for Mormonism. I'm sad to hear he's not doing well.

He was a great seminary teacher. I would attend his classes with the seniors at east high seminary back in the early 80s and loved his lessons. I also loved his after hours study groups where alternative voices like Dan Vogel, Michael Marquart and the Reverend Wesley Walters would come and share their views about Mormonism. I wish him well.

Sad news to hear about a very good bloke. I hope he outlives the prognosis by years.

Pancreatic cancer is terminal. It usually takes its victims swiftly. One of my good friends learned in March 2011 she had the illness. By August she was gone. It wasn't the cancer that took her though. It was the chemo that weakened her immunity and she developed pneumonia while in the hospital. That's what she died from.

I hope he doesn't suffer much longer. His first wife died early 90's from cancer. It's a cruel and savage disease.

Huh. I was watching the linked GP talk from an ex-Mormon conference. I didn't know Joseph Smith saw 47 different personages. Man. That dude was a pure bull shitt ing machine.

Start at 25:30 for an interesting nugget.

Very interesting. It would be cool to see that list.

And how many have all of the prophets since seen? All that meat in a few years and now we get centuries of milk?

And why is that?

I'm truly sorry to hear about Grant Palmer's condition. I wish him well.

Grant Palmer taught himself, and importantly others, a great deal about the realities of Joseph Smith Jr. and the early Mormon Church. He was as fair, objective and insightful about this subject matter as anyone I have read. He surely helped a great many people find a better path.

Pancreatic cancer is a viscous disease. I wish him and his family all the peace and comfort possible.

This is indeed very sad news.

We all cherish anyone who champions Truth and Grant Palmer is such an individual.

All the best to him and his family.

I was very sad indeed when I read this yesterday. Grant has always helped me in dealing with the uncomfortable issues I learned about from his book and others. I feel privileged that he let me publish a Home Page for him on MormonThink for everyone to enjoy. He also trusted me with insider information that wasn't published until months later. I reached out to him yesterday. He's in good spirits and working on another paper which he asked me to publish in the near future.

I had the privilege of meeting him at an Exmo conference in 2008. Kind, gracious, unassuming, friendly. This is very sad news to me.
