I've looked at Faith from both sides now.......
Joni Mitchell's song about the ups and downs of life may have left out a verse about faith. Personally, I try to look at faith from both sides. Almost inadvertently I swing back and forth from day to day, believing more some days, and more skeptical on others. It's an interesting way to look at reality, and I think perhaps I was created to be this way. I alternately blame God, my mother, and Will and Ariel Durrant. Is anyone else suffering/blessed with this outlook?

I haven't for a while now, but I remember the swing you describe. I blame evolution.

I've been doing this now for a few years. I read a good religious book, then a good atheist one. Then a good history book, then another good religious book, then an atheist one. I find it is a very comfortable way to learn both sides actually. A very important component in my personal education at this time in my life.
