I've often thought that the church needs to move to the left in order to keep the millenials and the younger generations interested. If they would lose the worship of money, stop the judginess, ditch the creepy temple and its loyalty oath relics from Joseph Smith's paranoid days, and actually serve people, maybe it would have a chance. I think the millenials would like a real service oriented, more secular organization that accepted everyone.

Millenials are interesting. They are not limited to their society. They make friends across the world playing video games, following social media stars, or any number of ways. Their geography reaches much further than their neighborhoods, their schools, their churches or even their states. They make Muslim friends, gay friends, Chinese friends. I think that's the struggle for all churches. How do you keep someone interested in a narrow world view of a ward boundary where everyone looks the same, acts the same, worships the same when their other boundaries are limitless?
