Fundamentalist Mormons being kicked out of their homes. WHERE is the LDS Church? Where is Oaks and his "protect our freedom to practice our religion" stuff?
Like them or not, agree or not with how they are doing things - they are people who are looking for help. People faithful to what they believe.
Interesting that the Kingston Clan in Box Elder County are stepping up and helping while "good Mormons" do nothing. Apparently it does not pay to follow Joseph Smith too closely.

Help those damn polygamists? Why that would be bad PR. You know how much they hate bad PR. Can't have that. So... let em starve.

Would it be fair to say they are just following separate aspects of Joseph Smith and that following Joseph's angel with the drawn sword pathway is not for Mormons who are integrated into mainstream America?

The LDS church doesn't believe in Freedom, it only believes in conservative Christian freedom.
Some religions believe in marijuana rites, gay marriage, nudism (naturist), and euthanasia, but the LDS church is against all of that.

It is my opinion that the majority of Christian Churches in this country are pretty much like the Mormons, with a few notable exceptions. Most are arrogant and self centered, terrified of change and integration with outsiders and deeply divided over how to deal with the changing dynamics of American culture. They almost all went for Trump and that tells you a lot. If the Mormons didn't have McMullen, I believe more of them would have voted for Trump. Even though Hillary is a Methodist, she has that liberal stink on her that many can't stomach. They would rather vote for a Democrat who ran as a Republican (a hypocrite and morally bankrupt turd) than have anything to do with anyone who is known as a "liberal". It's all about optics and ignoring reality. I'm disgusted with the blatant hypocrisy. I had Christian friends tell me I was following Satan because I voted for Hillary. When I brought up Trump's massive problems, they simply went into the "Hillary loves abortion" mantra. That is (I think) the biggest issue that divides the country today. To Christians it is murder and they cannot vote for anyone who allows women the right to choose. They would have the devil in the White House if he promised to get rid of abortion or contraception devices that kill the egg after sex. It's simply mind blowing. They can take away women's health care and have deformed babies, or babies with massive health problems and put all that on the parents. Have that child at any cost even if you were raped. But they don't give a crap what happens to the children after they are born. Then, it's not their problem. It's crazy town.

Re: WHERE is the LDS Church?
Interesting article. According to the report the evictions are primarily to protect the properties from liens over unpaid property taxes. And that is caused by FLDS being unwilling to sign agreements to pay $100 per month leases and keep up on property taxes because the organization managing the land trust was turned over to so-called apostates by the State of Utah. It even says the $100/month lease would be waived if needed.
I don't think it's fair to lay this at the feet of the Salt Lake church when what we seem to be seeing is a crisis created out of stubbornness and religious bigotry because FLDS aren't willing to deal with apostates from their church. That's screwed up.

Shannon Darger, "I know with all my heart that Warren (Jeffs) is a prophet of God."
Hyrum Dutson, "We look at all this going on, as a test."
I see a familiar pattern here.
