I really thought you were above this kind of ____, Bot. I've had some tell me that it would be better off if I were dead, but that is simply empty posturing. And driven off by "one tactic or another"?" Rather, they left because their apologetics are simply inane and stupid and they don't like others pointing this out with actual evidence.
I guess you're easily shocked. But who can argue with the fact that there just aren't any qualified apologists on this board and there haven't been for some time. There must be a reason.
Again, I only respond to somebody raising the question. I give an example from my own experience here, even though I'm no apologist.

He really is a good guy. The treatment he has received from apologists is shameful.
What is the worst that an apologist has done to this poor fellow and who was it. I'll have a chat with him or her.

Uh. The reason is they're trying to defend the indefensible. They respond with passive-aggressiveness, hostility, misdirection, speculation, inferences, and nonsense assertions. They don't like this board precisely because it won't be moderated to prevent facts from being discussed.
I'll remind you they were always welcome to post in the heavily moderated Celestial forum. If they took up residence there I guarantee you people would follow because the debate itself is fun and illuminating.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Did I come off as shocked? About what? But really,
driven off by attacks? And really taking threats of lawsuits and violence seriously? I'm not aware that Peterson ever did. Even his arch enemy Dr. Scratch hasn't been accused of that from him (that I'm aware of) though he's accused him of just about everything else. And if you are no apologist, then how can you use yourself as an example? Don't make much sense. And yeah, I see that you are treated quite abrasively by some here, but I've never had cause to do so. But I don't see you as an apologist either, and so we probably will seldom butt heads. The apologists left of their own accord. I have noticed that when Mormons come here to post, they are initially treated very well by everyone, but if they start in with the apologist BS they get pushback. I'm as guilty as the rest here of doing THAT. But there are lots of instances of Mormons who post here that don't get the abrasive treatment, like Don Bradley because he is NOT an apologist. He has a way of presenting arguments FOR the church in a very balanced way. Dishonesty just stinks, and when something stinks, people have a tendency to want to put it in the trash. There are too many ex-Mormons here for apologist shtick to have much of a chance of not being challenged. And we can't really go play in their backyard, they don't want to hear it and ban anyone who tries to make them. They don't get banned HERE. They know it, and still won't come near the place. There must be a reason. Perhaps they don't like their arguments getting shredded? I kind of think so.
What I find interesting is that super apologist Brian Hales used to have a blog on his polygamy website. But he got pushback in the comments section. It didn't last long. He shut down most of the comments on their youtube videos for FAIRMORMON also.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBYc3j4NzTY And just try making comments at the Interpreter that they don't like. You will be banned and have them deleted. This is a PATTERN for Mormon Apologists. They can't even take it when they HAVE control. To Peterson's credit, he does allow a lot of comments on his blog.
