D&C 10 should remind us how hiding truth is a sin.
In D&C 10, given in the summer of 1828, Joseph receives a purported revelation explaining the loss of the 116 pages. This unlikely, and unreasonable explanation, for which there still is no evidence, says that lying men are trying to trap Joseph Smith into re-translating the plates. It adds a warning that apologists, especially L.D.S. apologists should heed. If they are omitting or shading truths they "are not exempt from the justice of God." (D&C 10:28) If a person decides "that some things that are true are not useful", she (or he) is on a very slippery slope. God is- or at least should be- Truth. God bless us, every one.
