I'll put $5 on it being a geriatric white guy. Once we get a few more bets we can start calculating the odds.

There's been six in a row that have been white guys born in Utah. The last apostle not born in Utah was Bednar in 2004 (I guess Uchtdorf was also called at the same time).

Although if I could get really good odds on Mr. Gong, I might be willing to bet on him. Chinese ancestry, but born in California.

Clayton, Christensen, and Robbins have to be on the short list. White, born in Utah, been in the 70 a long time.

I'll toss in 5 bucks for a Latin American guy getting promoted. Shoot the odds alone could give me a big pay out. I would say Dube or Sitati but that'd be tossing money away at this point. They can't promote an African before they do a Latin American. Can they?
The bunch of white American guys are gonna get disappointed one of these times muddering affirmative action under their breath. I've been putting in my dues for years, and they go and do something like this? Just my luck, I get old enough right when they get all concerned about what other people think.

A latino baptized before 1978 would fall under the old white guy category. Just not the old white guy from Utah refinement.

If they are going to finally have the first non-white Q12 member, my money is on someone that's Polynesian.
ETA: If for no other reason than so people at conferences, and other events could go bonkers being able to shout “Aloha” whenever the new apostle spoke.
