But I like pain so I'll find time to listen to the rest. I kind of hear some of what they find problematic with the Church, but then going right is a dark hole I've never considered. Their scriptural references don't say what they suggested. So, I'd have to dig deeper to get a better picture of what is meant by some of that.

Remnant-ism is like an alternative universe deep within some dark corner of Mormonism. Wait until you get to part 4, that's where "Crazy-Town" immerges.

Watching Mormon cultists makes me want to start my own cult just so there would be an interesting option out there. These people seem nice and all, but talk about boooooorrring!

So I finished the first episode. Very interesting, but I have to say crazy town is already appearing, I mean when they are talking about why the church went apostate, they pick and choose which issues are signs and which are not.

So the girl is offended that some relief society leader suggested that women getting degrees instead of having families is not all that bad, but she is not offended by the priesthood being given to the blacks.

They are just apostate cafeteria Mormons, so far.

I look forward to the rest.

Thanks Craig. Interesting stuff to hear people like this talk. I wonder if this is what the Laffertys sounded like in the years before they murdered their SIL and neice?

I've got to think that Kish-ites would have way more fun.

Yeah, I was unimpressed by her first evidence of apostasy. A Relief Society talk on lifelong education? Fer realz?

Yes there is a lot of selective bias taking place with this couple. That is one of their blind spots. They only see what they chose to see and ignore everything that doesn't support their point of view. I honestly think that there is something in Mormonims that breads this in it's members. The justification for the bizarre in Mormonism must promote this phenomenon in Mormon members.

I couldn't make it through the first hour. The train pulled into crazy town when they started praising the Anti-Communism lunacy of Ezra Taft Benson and the whole thing went of the rails when one of her criticisms of the church was how they hired a "Jewish PR firm" (her words, not mine). Uh, that was all I needed to hear to know these people are certified nutters.

I should hope so. Otherwise what’s the point?

Well of course they are, but that is what makes it fascinating. Mainstream Mormonisn is nutters. I mean when you think about it, millions of people think you need to know secret handshakes, passwords and wear funny underwear just to please God. So what does it take for someone from that group, to decide that there is a more nutters beliefs to hold? That's why it is interesting, to hear otherwise normal sounding adults say even more bizzare stuff .

Normal is boring. In my cult we wear funny robes because that’s fun.
