The real question though is who Nelson picks as counselors. I have a feeling that is one convention he will part with and it won't be the Eyring/Uchdorf combo. Maybe keep one. I think his decision in this regard will show us whether there is indeed a bit of a divide as some have claimed. If he chose Bednar that would be, well, hilarious.

Living scripture in the FP ... that would be good for business here.

More interesting to the future of the Morg is who will be called up as replacement apostles, methinks.

Monson could wiggle his ears. What's Nelson's spiritual gift? Besides turning oxygen into boolship?

No need to guess.

It’s stipulated in the Corporations articles of association that the longest serving apostle automatically becomes President. On second reading of your post, I think you were actually saying that, right?

Can you point us to where this is in the Articles of Association?

Must be the Marvelous foresight of Jesus after the eight year fiasco trying to figure out the name of the church.

I vote for Lincoln Cannon 2018 as the next president of the LDS church. The church needs some real change.

Then the reign of the dodo will be upon us

Do you think the Lord will allow him to lead the Church astray, as long as it's only for a few years and the next guy can make the exact opposite decisions with confidence that he's right?

LOL!

He's married to a gerontologist.

A corporation sole is a legal entity consisting of a single ("sole") incorporated office, occupied by a single ("sole") natural person. A corporation sole is one of two types of corporation, the other being a corporation aggregate.[1][2] This allows corporations (often religious corporations or Commonwealth governments) to pass without interval in time from one office holder to the next successor-in-office, giving the positions legal continuity with subsequent office holders having identical powers and possessions to their predecessors.
